What I most enjoy about creating and celebrating wedding and partnership ceremonies is meeting people; hearing their stories and learning about what is most important to them. I love the opportunity my celebrant role offers to meet such a wide variety of people from so many different backgrounds and cultures and then to have the privilege of being involved in one of the most important events of their lives.

 

How will we work together?

Choosing your celebrant: we start with an informal chat so that you can decide whether I am the right celebrant for you. (Some people will contact a few celebrants before deciding whom to choose). We can either meet in person, via Skype or FaceTime or have a chat on the phone.

Planning: if you decide to go ahead with me, we will ideally meet face-to-face for a planning meeting, although if that is not possible, we can use Skype or FaceTime. This will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions of me and for me to find out all about you and your plans and ideas about your wedding. We will discuss everything from who you are as people, your stories, plans, hopes and aspirations through to practical details such as the location, timing and size of your wedding, what you would like to include and who the main people are who will perform a role on the day.

Developing your script: from what I have learned about you at our first meeting, I will develop the first draft of the ceremony script, after which you will be able to review it and we can discuss any changes that should be made. We may need to repeat this process a few times, until we get it exactly how you want it to be.

The Rehearsal: soon before the actual day of the wedding, we will have a rehearsal. This is a great way to ensure everyone has an opportunity to practice the choreography and any readings and feels confident before the actual wedding itself; everyone knows what they are doing, where to be and when to be there.

On the day: I will arrive early to ensure that everything is as it should be and meet up with both partners and everyone else who has a role to play. I will (obviously) conduct the ceremony itself and will then remain with you for a short time, to share a quick glass of something and meet your family and friends.

Your wedding will be one of the most important days in your life and it should be exactly as you want it to be – special and unique to you. I will help you to create your perfect ceremony and deliver it for you in a professional and friendly style.
