Testimonials

Lesley worked very well with the family beforehand. She drew on excellent texts, blended with the family’s and colleagues’ words. She created an excellent atmostphere, remarked on by family and many in the audience. It was all as we – and my mother – would have wished.

Lesley was the perfect celebrant for my mother’s funeral. She displayed kindness and understanding, a sense of humour, professionaism and perceptiveness. The tribute she wrote was beautiful and very apt.

Wonderful service, it was just what she would have liked. It is lovely to have a copy of the script which will be treasured.

The ceremonies you delivered (burial and celebration of life) were so personal and struck exactly the right tone. A friend commented the the celebration “exuded warmth and happiness throughout”.

A beautiful ceremony conducted by Lesley. She captured the true essence of my mum and gave her a wonderful send off she truly deserved.

Lesley showed complete professionalism throughout, I can’t thank her enough. I would recommend the Humanists UK to friends and family.

Lesley was great. On the first meeting she explained everything. she put things just right. I have had many comments on how good and compassionate she was. She made a sad day into a day to celebrate.

“I want one” – comment on a ceremony.

I want to thank you for the ceremony you gave to A a week ago. I thought his funeral truly inspirational and it has been a huge comfort to me to be absolutely sure he would have loved it; all the music, the poems, the words that captured his life. Thank you so much for the care and preparation that went into your work.

Our dear son committed suicide, aged 37 years. Lesley spent 3 hours with us in order to fully understand his life and circumstances. She was very perceptive and empathetic and she crafted a moving ceremony of great sensitivity that exceeded our expectations.

We’ve got the family together today and the subject of P’s funeral came up. I wanted to say again a deep thank you from us all to you for your kind and wise words on that day. Various relatives have said today that they continue to take great strength from them, in particular your reflections on a life as a book.

Thank you Lesley, the work you do is important and it is powerful. You have helped us very much.

My worries about the ceremony were probably twofold. Firstly that the others there would maybe not appreciate a non-religious ceremony and secondly that I would dissolve into uncontrollable tears. Due to your wonderful ceremony neither were realised. Everyone there was so complimentary about the ceremony. I became so involved in what you were saying and the uplifting final music helped me tremendously. Your really captured the essence of Mum and made the whole ceremony a personal and warm tribute to her. Many thanks.
