Fees and how it works

Everyone’s different, so contact me to confirm a quote. I sometimes offer discounts at less busy times, particularly if you are local to the Surbiton area.

My fee for a wedding is usually £895. This includes:

  • Intro chat by phone/Zoom
  • Personalised questionnaire to help me bring to life your story as a couple.
  • ‘Date night’ game (yeah it’s homework really!) for you to complete together
  • A discovery meeting with you both (usually around 90 mins) at agreed venue <10 miles from KT6, Central London or via Zoom.
  • Access to my library of readings, music, symbolic rituals and vows
  • Crafting and agreeing a bespoke script for your ceremony, based on our conversations
  • Unlimited edits
  • Full support in creating your vows (including a 30min workshop if wanted)
  • Leading your ceremony on the day (I only ever take one wedding per day, so I’m yours for as long as you need me.)
  • Keepsake copy of the ceremony script (PDF and printed)
  • A commemorative certificate if you’d like one
  • Full public liability insurance
  • A year’s free membership to Humanists UK.

It does not include:

  • Mileage or transport – for travel further than 30 miles from KT6.
  • Overnight accommodation if needed (depending on location)
  • Any additional face to face meetings if required
  • Any props required as part of the ceremony (to be provided by the couple)
  • Any other special requests – contact me for a bespoke quote.

VOW RENEWALS/ ‘RE-WEDDINGS’ – from £475 – £795 depending on content/complexity – please contact me for a quote.

The legal bit

It’s worth mentioning that humanist weddings are not yet legally recognised in England (we’re working on it! ) so you’d need to do the ‘paperwork bit’ separately.  This is very simple and inexpensive to arrange, and most couples choose to do this in the days or weeks before their special day.  This also gives you the freedom to choose any location or venue you like for your humanist ceremony (whether it’s indoors or outdoors, a family home, woodland, beach, quirky airbnb, campsite, boat…) as it doesn’t need to hold a civil marriage licence.

There’s heaps more I’d love to tell you , so I’m happy to answer any further questions you may have. I’d also recommend having a look at the Humanists UK weddings page, here: https://humanism.org.uk/ceremonies/non-religious-weddings/ – where you’ll find lots of useful information and ideas.

Now taking bookings for 2024 and beyond.

I am currently offering a COVID-safe guarantee:  If you book a ceremony with me but that pesky virus forces you to change your plans, I will offer you a free change of date to any other dates I have available. Ask me for more details.
