Feedback from namings

Dear Kate

Very kind for you to have done a lovely parchment copy.

We have had so many comments from all the family about how lovely the ceremony was and how pleasantly surprised they were by the mood, content and tone of it – I think they had no frame of reference so didnt know what to expect, and were really blown away by how personal and special it could be. Definitely quite a few converts there!

We had such an idyllic day and keep pinching ourselves that the weather really was THAT good. Needless to say the boys were in the lake before lunch even began and much merriment ensued. A very convivial and jovial day, made more so by the perfect pitch of the ceremony.

So thanks again, it will remain one of the most memorable days for us all.

With love from

Polly, Charlie & Agnes

Feedback from weddings

The wedding of Nathalie to Colin (September 2013)

Dear Kate,

Thank you very much for all your help in preparing and delivering an amazing and unforgettable wedding ceremony for us. We’re so glad we chose you for the job and got to know you in the process. We really want to stay in touch. Much love. Nat & Colin (September 2013)

The wedding of Anna to Andy (August 2014)

Hello Kate

I think that Anna and Andy definitely had the wedding they hoped for—including the weather! Anna’s grandparents commented very positively about the ceremony especially as they didn’t know what to expect from a Humanist ceremony, so thank you very much for your contribution from the newly extended L-C families.

The wedding of Toyha to Paul (September 2014: This was a Secret Wedding to all except Toyha and Paul!)

As soon as we discovered the idea of a humanist ceremony we fell in love with the freedom to make the service completely what we wanted it to be and personal to our story.

“For me, the best part of the humanist ceremony was the handfasting ritual. It was such a beautiful expression to see both sets of parents tying these two together and then stepping away, leaving Paul and Toyha to become one and begin their lives as husband and wife.”

Thank you so much for conducting a blessing and for all the advice and guidance in the preparation for it. You were great!

Feedback from funerals

“Thank you so much for conducting such a beautiful service yesterday.  It was a wonderful celebration of his life and such a fitting way for all of our family and friends to say farewell to him.  The Natural Burial Ground at the Sustainability Centre is a very special, tranquil and beautiful place and you made the whole service and the committal dignified yet extremely touching.  Heartfelt thanks from us all” G, P, P, T and C.

I wanted to let you know how beautiful everyone thought the service was and how much love was in that room.
I really appreciated all your time and care that you put into the day. It was a lovely and caring time.

Hi, Kate
Just to say that you did an excellent service for my Mum, had many compliments regarding this, many thanks. (June 2014)

Thank you for the wonderful cremation ceremony for my mother that you conducted last Friday.  It was all that I had hoped for.   Talking to the other mourners it was apparent that they realised that funerals do not have to be sombre and can even be joyous occasions.  (Son, December 2013)

You could not have got that more right if you had actually met her” (daughter about the ceremony for her mother, Feb 2013)

I didn’t cry..and you know why? Because I loved hearing every word of our life back again. It made me remember why I was with Ken for 62 years! (December 2013)

That’s a very thoughtful piece of writing you’ve achieved and I can’t believe you’ve done that from sitting with us for only one hour. My mother in a nutshell! (October 2013)

Just wanted to thank you so much for all your help and the wonderful job you did conducting the celebration of mum’s life.  Almost all approached either myself or Vicky to say what a lovely service it was and how much mum would have approved! (April 2013)

“I know it sounds weird but that was the best funeral I have ever been to because it was all about nan”. (April 2013)

“thanks for coming over this afternoon. My father has taken great comfort by being able to talk openly about his life with mother.” (text message sent immediately after family visit, August 2013)
