About Me
Hello, I am Katy, a Humanist Wedding Celebrant based in Brighton. I work closely with couples and their families, to produce inclusive and meaningful ceremonies that reflect their personalities and values.
Whether you are getting married, wanting to renew your vows, or committing to a partnership, I can help you to create a bespoke ceremony that celebrates the unique aspects of your relationship with warmth and humour.
The best thing about this job is that I meet so many lovely, interesting people, and get to conduct ceremonies in all sorts of places. You could choose to have an informal affair at home, an outdoor number in the woods or a more traditional event at an established wedding venue. In fact, you can have a Humanist Ceremony wherever you choose (providing you have the owner’s permission if needed).
Equality issues are important to me – everyone is entitled to have a beautiful meaningful ceremony that values and respects their relationship. I welcome and celebrate the opportunity of working with people of all identities.
Being a Humanist Celebrant isn’t all I do. I am proud to have had a long career in the NHS as an occupational therapist. I currently work with children in a community setting, but a large part of my career has been spent working with people with mental health problems and sight loss.
When I am not working I enjoy socialising with family and friends, visiting art galleries /museums, independent cinema, singing, comedy, music, Asian food and travelling.
If you are in the happy position of wanting to arrange a wedding or similar celebration, do get in touch. We can have a chat about your ideas and see if you want to take it further.
