Weddings and Partnerships
Humanist weddings and partnership ceremonies are always joyful and memorable occasions. If you are looking for an individual and personal ceremony I can help you to realise your dream. We will work together to develop your ideas and express your feelings in a unique ceremony.
Your ceremony can be held in any location, including out of doors, not just at a licensed venue. Many couples specifically choose a humanist ceremony because they want an outdoor celebration.
There is a great choice of venues in the Cotswolds, and the surrounding countryside as well as in the main towns. There are many picturesque barns and lakeside venues as well as elegant hotels, inns and country houses. Some couples have married in fields, with camping for their guests, marquees and tepees. Some have persuaded relatives or friends to hold the ceremony in their garden. Some hire a large holiday house. Many couples choose Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties because they have spent happy times walking and exploring the area.
Bristol venues range from city centre and harbourside hotels and restaurants, to country parks and local halls. Former religious buildings such as St Georges in central Bristol and the Anglican Chapel in Arnos Vale cemetery both provided grand venues for weddings. Anywhere can work!
SPECIAL CEREMONIES
I often conduct weddings ceremonies for couples who want to celebrate their wedding in two countries but cannot have two legal ceremonies. A humanist non-legal, wedding gives the couple a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their marriage in front of ALL their family and friends while retaining the special importance of the occasion.
RENEWAL OF VOWS
Some couples celebrate a wedding anniversary, perhaps a milestone one, or want to have a more elaborate celebration than their original wedding. Together we can create a unique personal ceremony for the occasion. This may include a renewal of the original wedding vows or new promises.
- A humanist wedding or partnership ceremony can be celebrated in your own way at a time and venue that suits you.
- Each ceremony is unique, meaningful and memorable.
- Family and friends can contribute to making the day personal by doing readings or poems or playing music.
FEES
My fee for wedding and partnership ceremonies in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Bristol is £600. For more distant venues I may need to charge a little more to cover the additional travelling.
My fee includes an initial consultation, a rehearsal, all my travelling costs and ongoing advice and support during the creation of the ceremony.
A deposit of £200 is payable to book the day, and the balance a month before the Ceremony Day.
