Responses to Funeral Ceremonies

A selection of comments from families following ceremonies I have arranged and led.

January 2024: Mr Ison was excellent. He came to see me and talked at length about my husband. so much so, that during the ceremony I felt he knew my husband so well it seemed as if he had known myself and my children for years. He spoke so well and kept me informed of everything.

November 2023: Andrew was a real pleasure to talk to when planning the funeral. He put us at our ease. It meant we could have the ceremony where we wanted.

October 2023: Andy was amazing. his delivery of the service was friendly and personal, so much so that some people thought he was a family friend. Thank you Andy.

October 2023: Andy spent a long time finding out about my husband to really get a feel for him. It made it so personal.

November 2022: Andy did an amazing job and made the ceremony more than we could ever have hoped for. He took the time to ensure I was okay at various points. After the ceremony so many people asked if my husband had planned it all as it was ‘so him’. He hadn’t – he died suddenly – it was truly thanks to Andy.

July 2022: I felt that our celebrant had known my mother all her life, Andy was kind, amusing and respectful.

October 2021: Andrew Ison spent a great deal of time finding out about my mother and piecing together some notes and information I had. He delivered a sensitive and fitting eulogy celebration of Mums life. Thank you.

August 2020: I could not have asked for anything more than what Andrew Ison did for my father’s funeral service, This all happened through covid and Andrew went above and beyond to help to meet our needs and listened to every little detail of what we told him about my father’s life. February 2021: From the first conversation I was impressed by Andy’s professional and caring approach.

February 2021: Andrew made the funeral really personal, bearable, and even funny at times. Perfect.

January 2021: Andy was very personable from our very first meeting with him on Zoom. The celebration of my husband’s life was truly beautiful and so sincere. We feel blessed that we found Andy at such a sad time in our lives.

October 2019: Very Professional, excellent service – a nice man

July 2019: Andy spoke to us for two hours about the type of person they were. Only a few hours later he sent us a draft of his tribute. He had really got the essence of our husband/father. This was also commented on by many friends and family who attended the funeral.        A religious ceremony would have been inappropriate. Other. Heard a lot of good things

July 2019: The ceremony was exactly what I had hoped for.

July 2019: Andy was perfect! Our initial meeting brought laughs and tears and he was really interested in getting to know mum, her family and her life.

April 2019: Andy was just brilliant and made the “celebration of life” a very nice day, despite the circumstances surrounding my partner’s death.

January 2019: Andrew seemed to take pleasure in getting a sense of who my husband was. He responded sensitively to emails about the tenor of his own contribution, and at the ceremony drew everything together calmly, sensitively, with humour. A success.

December 2018: Andy was patient and understanding. He took time to gather appropriate and relevant information to ensure the service was personal and intimate.

December 2017: A beautiful ceremony, well given and received and commended by attendants at funeral service. Andy Ison delivered the service impeccably and the many comments from friends proved his worth.

October 2017: Andy is a fantastic celebrant, he made our day very special for everyone. Highly recommended, everyone loved him.

April 2017: Andy is a lovely human being.

February 2017: At our first meeting, I said I wanted Andrew to sound as if he had known my father all his life. That is what happened.

January 2017: We found the meeting prior to the ceremony to be very cathartic. Andy was very skillful in asking insightful questions that allowed him to present an accurate portrait of our mother.
