Cancellations

Cancellation policy (as at 24 March 2020)

If I am unable to prepare of deliver a ceremony I have contracted to, whether that be through illness, bereavement or other unforeseen circumstance, I will reach out to my regional and national network to find an alternative Humanist Celebrant to take my place at no additional cost to yourselves.

I will provide a written record of what has been agreed in all cases.

Weddings

I will only charge for work already undertaken in accordance with the staged payment terms set out in the contract.  If a replacement Celebrant has a different fee structure, I will liaise with them to ensure that there is no additional cost to the couple overall.

If a client has to postpone or cancel a wedding, for whatever reason, and I have not yet commenced work on their ceremony, I will hold the deposit and work with them to try to find an alternate date. Where work on the ceremony has already commenced, Humanists UK recommendation is to retain any money paid to date and allow it to be used against a future date.

Funerals

If I am unable to meet my contractual obligations for funerals, and a replacement Celebrant can be found, I will agree how the fee should be divided between myself and the replacement celebrant, based on the relative work undertaken, at no additional cost to youselves.

If a replacement Celebrant cannot be found, I will only charge a fair proportion of my fee, according to how far developed the ceremony is.

I hope that this covers everything. If you have any questions, please get in touch and I will do my best to work through any concerns.
