Committal and Scattering Cremated Remains at Sea

This may be appropriate for some families and so I wanted to lay out a little information that might help you to decide whether to venture onto water or not!

The Maritime Volunteer Service is a charity that has formal recognition from the Royal Navy to arrange for the scattering of cremated remains at sea in the Solent region, between Southampton, Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight. These waters are the home of the Royal Navy and the British Merchant Navy and with the help of this charity, a fitting tribute can be given to someone who has enjoyed the water either through work or leisure.

The charity asks for a donation so they suggest £150.00 – which goes to the running and upkeep of their vessels.
