My Mother’s Ceremony
Woking Crematorium was built in 1871 and we absolutely loved the way the stone, brass and marble reflected in light that was streaming through the large east-facing window. My mother was a singer and an artist and when I saw this coffin at another service that I conducted, I knew I wanted it for her too.
It’s not hard to make a funeral visually beautiful as well as have wonderful content. We had a fabulous organist who worked with a professional singer, a Male Voice Choir and plenty of tributes over the double time slot. I wanted to share this photograph that one of her friends took on her way out. It was a really spectacular and fitting tribute to her artistry.
