Costs for 2024 (and currently for 2025 bookings)
The all inclusive cost of a wedding ceremony with me is currently in the range of £750-£950 (depending on venue location, day and type of ceremony required).
The cost of Vow Renewal ceremonies and small and intimate ceremonies (less than 20) is again dependent on the day, type and length of ceremony that you require and the location with a fee range of £600-£750.
A £200 deposit on confirmation of booking secures your date in my diary, the balance will be due in two equal payments, one when I send you the ceremony script (usually two/three months before the ceremony) and the final payment at the beginning of the month of the ceremony.
So that I can totally focus on your ceremony I only take one booking per day, which also gives me (and you!) complete flexibility about the time and length of your ceremony.
I’ll be as flexible as possible if you need to postpone or change the date, and I’m happy to discuss an instalment payment plan to spread the cost if required.
I offer an informal no-obligation consultation, usually this will be on the phone or online and you can ask questions to see if a humanist ceremony is the best option for you, and I am the right celebrant for you!
How I work and what my inclusive fee includes
Initially I’ll send you a short information gathering form which will give me some background to you both, and what is important to you as a couple. Once I receive this we put a date in the diary to meet up (it’s best to leave a couple of hours for this meeting as there is usually much to talk about!).
I’ll ask some questions about you as a couple (how you met, your relationship and hopes for the future) and we’ll discuss how you would like your ceremony to be delivered. We can also talk about input from family and friends you might require and I’ll give as much advice on readings, music, poetry, symbolic, cultural acts or wedding rituals that you might like included in your ceremony.
I then write a draft script based on the information you have given me and this is work in progress until you are happy with the final draft.
It maybe that we need to meet again to make sure the ceremony is as you wish, where regular meet ups are not possible, I will make sure that we speak regularly via phone or online.
Part of my services as includes liaison with others involved in the ceremony, for example venue staff, planners, musicians, photographers, family and friends delivering readings on the day etc. This will be carried out by me in advance of the ceremony and on the day itself.
Where possible we’ll carry out a rehearsal or run through to check any practicalities that need addressing, if this is not possible I’ll find an alternative solution.
Most importantly I will arrive at least an hour and a half in advance on the day , check in with you both and all involved and then professionally, and calmly deliver your ceremony.
I can also provide certificates as required, copies of vows and readings and a presentation keepsake copy of the ceremony etc.
If you are looking to book my services as a celebrant for a “destination” wedding, or one where I would need to stay in the vicinity on the evening before the ceremony this can be discussed when we speak.
A percentage of my fee is paid to Humanists UK. This is to cover Public Liability and Indemnity Insurance and contributes to the training and personal development of Humanist UK celebrants nationwide.
